Xeigu G90.ACC to PTT and IF Gain

Post by 2E0JFS »

Hi all, long time no speak ....

I've been bucking the trend with my QRP and /P setups.
Carrying around a larger radio with some SDR functions, I've finally caved and got a G90.

So glad I did. The linear is coming soon.

Operating with my laptop and a USB sound card and the cat control on HDSDR, it's a dream to be honest.

Worked around Europe with 5 Whiskey's.. great fun.

I have a couple of minor niggles I was hoping you guys might help with.

1) The ACC plug ..what is the term for this plug. I need a PTT output from it to reduce the HDSDR headphones output when I TX . I can use the rig speaker which is excellent the audio all round is good on this little radio, but the noise reduction and headphone quality is pretty handy, problem is when you TX you are hearing your voice back and some hum if theres anything less than a perfect match ...if the tuner is working..it's noisy. I've tried into a perfect match with no tune needed and the hum is gone but there is a latency delay in audio which throws you.

Experiments with a manual switch off of the cans show that a PTT just turning off the the computer phones for a timed period would work . .I can knock up a circuit, but I need the PTT out ...tried to find the plug ..but no idea what you call these

2) the IF Gain is a line out not a mid out ? So some strong stations clip the audio adapter which is mic level. I'm looking to try a different audio adapter or find an attenuator...

It's going pretty well though considering.

Thanks

And 73
