Hi,
Looking to discover from where the copper V-shaped piece in the photo attached came from in a Kenwood TS440S. I think the piece in question fell into the Final Unit when I was removing the Filter Unit, which sits just above the Final Unit. The V-shaped piece of copper has no visible signs of solder or anything that would give a clue to where it is fixed, so, presumably, it is wedged between the chassis ground and something unknown to ground it. I know it likely comes from the aforementioned area in other TS440S transceivers as it appears at 2mins 14secs (2.14) in the following Youtube video, where the guy looks like he removed the Filter Unit as I did and placed this copper piece on his bench just in front of him. I tried asking where the piece came from on his video, but neither he nor anyone else replied.
Just back up the video to get a look at the Final Unit PCB area from which somewhere around it this copper piece should live.

Someone with knowledge of the TS440S has hopefully already come across this during a repair or modification.
Thanks

Re: TS440S V-shaped Copper Grounding Piece
My only suggestion is you look at this link and around page 82 there are disassembly diagrams which may well reveal the parts location. Good luck.

Thanks dcwuk. I did check the service manual first, but it does not show the part. I think the most likely location is probably on top of the large ferrite.

Re: TS440S V-shaped Copper Grounding Piece
Thanks dcwuk. Yep, the first one is sticky copper tape and the \_/ shaped one is soldered to the can. I am happy with leaving it on top of the ferrite with the Filter Unit shelf pressing down on it. It probably only a belts and braces type of thing anyway. Cheers.
