Hi All,
I'm new to this hobby. I'm hoping to pick up transmissions around sport stadiums in particular the referee's comments. Also looking to monitor civil aviation at my local airport (UK based).
I'm finding the airways beyond that very quiet - has everyone gone digital (and have I done myself a disservice buying an analogue scanner)
Looking for any tips for a newbie!
Thank you.

Hi, I'm Derby based. I can pick up the aircraft going into East Midland (EMA) from where I am but not the ground stations.
I have also not found any local frequencies yet - perhaps they have all moved to Digital.
