Re: My citizens band radio transceiver sets
I think he is asking are powersupplies to run these two radios expensive.
Amstrad 901 uses about 4amps
Sharp ssb rig about say 12 Amps tops.
so to run both at the same time, a 20Amp Powersupply should be fine.
so search for a 13.8Volt 20Amp switching PSU should cover you ok.
Nevada-warehouse and others sell them on ebay

Maybe something like this otherwise. Should run the SSB on its own:

Re: My citizens band radio transceiver sets
I disagree with your figures, a 40ch FM set will usually take no more than an amp keyed up, less on receive, your average ssb set won't take any more than 2 or 3 amps keyed up, so a decent 5-7 amp supply will do the job (though the stated ratings can be a bit optimistic for some). If you get a good switch mode power supply, 10 amps plus, you'll be covered for future expansion. If you use a linear amp then a 10-15 amp supply would be needed, ham radios need closer to 20 amps on full power. Price will depend on output (obviously), buy what you can afford, second hand is OK, I paid £40 for my 23 amp smps, new ones are nearer double that.DX-Digger wrote: ↑15 Oct 2022, 19:01 I think he is asking are powersupplies to run these two radios expensive.

I Agree with mitch, Most run of the mill CB power supplies back in the day were 3-Amp constant 5-amp surge, Best bet would be a server PSU. More current than you'd ever need, My 706 mark 2 is pretty current thirsty, 1.5a on receive
