They'd be my last resort if I needed any type of aerial put up, then factor in they probably know nothing about scanners and 50 ohm coax so will either not bother soldering the plugs or stick on a surcharge for 'specialist' cabling. I'd cancel then look for a local amateur club, radio net, anorak who fancies a few quid in the pocket to do the job and wants to help someone rather than fleece them.
my friend grafter, seems like you are using a very offensive tone in the reply.

Grafter that’s what a friend said to do
But I don’t go to a radio amateur club tho
Plus I don’t know a anorak radio net
Either
I do think strange before coming yesterday free because a quote .
But because coax loose of yagi
He thinks that water could of damaged yagi
So now he says it’s a 83 diagnostic Propblem
Plus I only put this thread up because read
Loads of horror stories of erectors doing a job
Then when doing it charge four charge has much .
Then bully the house holder to pay .
Allso does anyone know any erectors that would do the job at York please

You have asked a company to fit something that is clearly not something they even profess to know anything much about. So have a sensible think.

You can get a commercial radio installer to do the job and it will cost perhaps £300 plus their travel which can be expensive if they have to stay in a hotel. That is how much communication specialist cost.

A TV and radio antenna firm who do satellite stuff can safely use ladders, drill holes in your property and follow your instructions. If you cannot give them the correct instructions, then that's not their fault. If you cannot solder, then you might again be stuck. If you supply them everything needed - like a cable with the correct connector, and maybe already waterproofed, they'll be able to install it perfectly well - leaving you to fit the connectors inside when they are gone.

If you don't know how to do certain things, then you need to find specialists. In the past, I have had huge ham antennas fitted by the local tv folk, because the house it was going on was 3 storeys high and I did not fancy walking on the roof. I made up the antennas, fitted the cables and rotator and all they needed to do was fit what I'd made up on the huge chimney - with heavy duty lashing kits. They charged me the usual cost of the job, and they were local.

People nowadays complain very quickly yet rarely take the time to praise. If you were doubtful, you should have asked before arranging it.

If they are experts on TV antennas, then its not very clear why you used them?

A damaged yagi - as in a comms yagi, or a bog standard aluminium TV antenna - that costs about a fiver, trade price and doesn't even have baluns fitted?

As for the hams, radio clubs etc - a quick google shows there are clubs in your area so the idea is great. One club member might love to install your antenna for a few quid, and will almost certainly know more about scanner antennas than the TV people. Sometimes you do just have to put in a little bit of effort.
