I no longer own my 991A, but a quick Google and brief read of some QRZ forum discussions on this, I found the link to a UK supplier of the Sunon fan outlined in the modification.

Link to discussion on QRZ.

The Sunon fan is mentioned at the bottom of page 1. However, there's no reason why you can't fit another make. Key is to ensure the airflow is good enough, the fan has a lower noise level and it doesn't draw more current than the factory fitted Panasonic.

Good luck...

Thanks for that one.
I did find it there but on back order no idea how long it would take to get one from them.

You're welcome
Let me know how you get on. Fan noise can drive you potty.
I had to do the same to a power supply that had a built-in jet turbine for a cooling fan!

Think this the fan you're looking at..

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07ZBQXD83/ ... ZCJWNDWXGW

At 27dba, it's mightily quiet. Slide bearing too, so it should be reliable.

I have changed all the fans in my radio's and power supply's.

I had a look at the noise blocker fan but the specs where way out.
Wattage is 2.8 but radio fan is 1.5?.
CFM is too low on them as well.
Thanks anyway might use them in a power supply sometime.
