It is no secret, unencrypted (in the clear) Tetra can be received by the AOR DV1 and DV10, also by various dongles that can be plugged into a PC..

Will reply to your PM here, I am no expert on PC dongles so you would do better asking your questions on here as you would reach a wider group of expertise on the subject..

Are you any good with the set up? And also with those names you mentioned above can you receive these nationwide? Just trying to work out if it’s worth my

I had a dongle years ago but migrated to digital scanners that are not tied to a PC and can run stand alone, also a couple of scanners I use are portable - which you can't easily do with a dongle.
Apart from the Northern Ireland example the other examples are limited to their local are and in the case of London Underground the signal is not receivable very far from the tube stations and overground lines..

With tetra and other radio networks in the uk none are nationwide, only radio network nationwide is airwave the encrypted emergency service network.
Tetra infrastructure is very expensive so no point in say London Underground network having base stations in Manchester or Glasgow etc.
Most if not all private networks are clear and limited range from where they operate.
If near the coast it’s been reported some off shore wind farms use tetra. But not all.
Some onshore ones also use it also but ones around me still use analog.

Anyone know if the new "Emergency Services Network" has gone live in the UK yet?
I know that here in NI the Fire and Ambulance has been on Tetra in the clear for a long time now, but recently some of the Ambulance stuff has disappeared ( namely the Rapid Response units ) and I was wondering if they had migrated to the new system or had just changed to an encrypted Tetra instead?

TIA

The new ESN is still in construction / testing.
I can see the network on my mobile when I do a manual network scan.
Certainly here in Scotland the cops still use airwave but are / have also been issued with tablet / PDA but not sure if that’s on ESN or another network at present

Still a year away I would say, they are now replacing all the Huawei equipment they spent years fitting.
