Private Mmdvm/digi-spot network

Post by madman1027 »

Hi guys,

Is anyone running their own network/group away from Brandmeister/phoenix/DMR+ as a closed small group on their own server?

I'm scoping out doing so as a bit of an experiment and was curious as to whether we have others here have had a go/success?

I presume you're looking at linking two or more DMR repeaters through an independent network? If you are, the cost of doing so will be outside most experimenters' budgets and even assuming you have sites lined up, NoVs are sometimes quite slow to be issued.

What other infrastructure might you be considering?

Not quite, I've seen some work on a server with nothing more than small Rpi based hotspots connected to over IP, no repeater no licensing, not even interested in that at the moment just looking at the practical/technical side. If no one's done it here then no biggie, I'll reach out else where as it's somewhat outside the norms of what most people are doing.
