Well my Wilson 1000 is connected to the ant socket and the patch lead i made is connected to the rtx socket and radio, the needle moves when keyed and it receives perfect.

Did you try it on AM, when I say the needle moves, I meant the receiving rig, not your, have you turned the pre-amp off. Turn the pre-amp so it is out of the equation for the moment (and confirm you have done this). Try it on FM (and confirm you have done this). Does the receiving rig get any thing, i.e. carrier but no audio or no signal whatsoever (confirm which this is).

Don't come back until you can answer those questions.

After some more testing my brothers radio can only pick me up with the preamp on and nothing but static with it off and the linear on ??

In that case it probably doesn't have any output, send it back...
