Edinburgh CCTV
Hi
Has anyone else noticed how poor quality the reception is on 453.9625? I never hear it during the day but sometimes hear pubs at night but it was once very clear but not now. There is also a digital tone that comes on this freq so not sure if this is related but maybe Edinburgh CCTV is finally going digital?

Re: Edinburgh CCTV
Been listening to the scanner recently, looks like the CCTV frequency has digital and analogue users on it as I am getting both. Still seems to be some sort of security or CCTV ops on the analogue so not all gone.

Re: Edinburgh CCTV
Edinburgh Shopwatch was active today and all users seem to be analogue. Was also heard last night with taxi rank marshalls using it.

Re: Edinburgh CCTV
It would appear that Edinburgh Shopwatch has now went digital. Had the Pubwatch on last night for ages and before you would hear Taxi Marshals chatting but now you only get the digital sound so safe to say they are gone too. So 453.0625 is no more.

Seconding elliotg, although I had a go at decoding it and it's plain unencrypted DMR so still listenable with the right kit.

Haha, do they still have that lass who says "roger" all the time? That always used to crack me up, especially when you got several "rogers" in a single transmission...
"Roger, OK, uh-huh, roger, right-oh, thanks will do, roger. Roger." etc. etc.

Re: Edinburgh CCTV
Just a update Edinburgh Shopwatch has been active tonight.
453.0625
CTCSS 179.9
They must be one of the last to go digital. Maybe they spent too much on the trams to afford digital radios : ).

Re: Edinburgh CCTV
If that's a couple of months on analogue, looks like they've delayed a digital introduction or the digital comms they had have gone "Dzzz Dzzz bang!!" and this is just a temporary measure? But it does sound confusing!
You can never have enough radios!
