Sat here listening to this and my head hurts. What do they get from this? Building all those super-powered setups just to talk utter bo11ocks?
Also never been able to get onboard with their flavour of 'dxing' on 27.385 USB. 'Waving a hand', giving a single 3-digit number, that's it? I thought the Orange One was gunna make America Great again? haha

I always just go to listen above 27.300 (Unless CIS countries on the .00 channels ) generally with USB/LSB, DX freeband is so much better than the regular channels.. Here in Europe, it's almost identical to ham radio and easy for newcomers to understanad.
I don't understand why Americans all talk over each other in AM mode and all the "10-4 rubber ducker" slang, it's so impractical, cryptic and impossible to hear anything with their accents, it doesn't help QRP stations at all.. It's just chaos on 27.025 AM... No callsigns, just anarchy.

think about it from the USA or EU point of view when listening to 27555 when the local dimwits are sitting there not moving and doing more or less the same thing
Well I am pleased its not just me becoming a whinging old man about it! haha.
I just don;t see the attraction. Occasionally you get some US stations making it on onto Hi band working DX in(what I'd consider) a normal way, but the Superbowl and 385 are just head scracthers to me!

I've picked this up on my Tecsun PL660 then on the recent Thunderpole TX purchase. They sound utterly bonkers, just random jabbering. One PMR contact told me that they run kilowatts of power. Reading around, it seems they live for having the biggest and bestest set up - rig, power and antenna and spend much if their time yelling at their buddies at the other end of the country.
Most of them sound like they share the same single tooth and mother, I've often wondered how they fund what must be multi thousand dollar set ups just to shout sh1te?
my friend grafter, seems like you are using a very offensive tone in the reply.
I heard one man yelling "gotta check up on somebody" repeatedly and other random stuff like "gonna pour me four fingers", "a'hm goin down to mobile" etc.
On other channels I have heard sane yanks making proper DX contacts.

Each to their own , some might not enjoy operating the way you consider " normal " what is normal on cb radio and we mustn't forget its cb radio not ham , i dx and i am a 5/9 bye op and some might not consider that normal but its the way i do it or give a report and my radio antenna thats it , if that's the way they enjoy it its up to them , cb is a dying hobby in a few years we will be looking for them to talk to or have moved on to knitting lol

Q codes and to a lesser extent, 10 codes are internationally recognised, so its simple for anyone to use them and learn, that's why we use them as the standard, and it's even easy for non-native English speakers to use this format. Also you can still easily have a longer conversation with someone on 11m, just miss out all the "rubber ducky" slang, because it's indecipherable.
Also regarding 27.025, it's not very fair to QRP stations, if everyone keys over each other at once, it's just bad practise.
