Some of the new cb radios feature split ctcsss tones
How to use with a Parrot repeater box to avoid ring around and not use split tx offset.
Program your base for example
Base
CH2 Tone Code 1 RX
CH2 Tone Code 6 TX
Portables\Mobiles
CH2 Tone Code 6 RX
CH2 Tone Code 1 TX
Now you have semi duplex without shifting the frequency,NO more loop around as that was one of the cruxes of simplex parrot repeaters in past.
plug your Parrot box into base or software version (F6DQM Simplex DX I recommend using read the documents inclused)
Repeater box-https://www.argentdata.com/catalog/prod ... ucts_id=98
Repeater software please consider a small donation to Gabriel http://f6dqm.free.fr/soft/simplex/en/simplex.htm
away you go!
THis split ctcss system also works on 446PMR without breaking the rules if you have a more advanced set that can be programmed with different ctcss or DCS sub tones...Give it a go!
I am working on a suitable interface pcb to pc and radio, but all the basics are there to get you started.
More cb for 2024 should support split ctcss\dcs but check first.
Update!!! new parrot box !!!

Radioddity CB-500 -new set CTCSS/DCS Single and split tones available
Repeater shift +/-
Alpha ch
0/5kc
NRC DSP noise reduction
2k/4k dev USA
New PCB updated and firmware
From what I gather there is rx audio out on the six pin microphone too to ease interfacing radio to pc or repeater box.
Also has a better fist microphone with improved switch.
How about reusing UK Channel 14-14 ctcss tone as a new ctcss mobile/portable national ctcss channel???
YouTube reviews and extras
Fred in the shed youtube
NLK media video youtube
Haven't tried one yet on bench but if as good as the Anytone mk 1,Crt and jopix gs60,Def worth a look at I think.

Well we have
Washington 2
AT-6666Pro/CRT SS-9900V
I guess more ctcss/DCS sub tones become available on mid to higher tier sets now.
Just like PMR 446 ,takes time to get users used to sub tone uses and established on CB radio.
It appears some users are scared to use it !
Don't be,once you go fm+ctcss you won't look back ,lot quieter the squelch mute , especially mobile in heavy qrm noise towns.
So found NO issues using ctcss on CB ,no delays ,drop outs mobile or hand talkies.
If anything I found it a pleasure not here sqwarking squelch mute blasts while driving about town.
My suggestion was
Ch 01-01 (ctcss) etc
Or as suggest a common ctcss tone number across all 40 channels ?
DCS does offer more tone codes than ctcss from what I see on the tone tables in manual.

Yes seems more and more cb/10m sets have it now,so good times to get busy establishing some new common ctcss channels on EU & UK bands.
So far havnt found any issues using ctcss on cb ,does keep the radio more imune to local noises, very quiet muting.

In the Uk at least, you struggle to find anyone using CB full stop, let alone having a need to use CTCSS. Perhaps it has some commercial use, where mobile comms want to limit their contact to only those whom they are waiting to speak with.

Re: New-CB radios with CTCSS Sub tones, who's tried it yet?
Its like here in London when the 35 chairman goes on holiday no one comes on the channel. I know most that use 35 can't hold a convo for more then 10 seconds but come on. If you don't key your mic up and speak it's all over. No point in having 100 people listening and 10 talking. We also need new ideas to get people on air. It's always the same boring lot talking the same crap every night. I don't see anyone promoting cb radio anywhere. It might surprise people to hear that where i live i have heard 100's of breakers over the last few years alone. One thing i['ve noticed is for every 1 talker there most likely 10 listens. If you love cb radio and want to keep it alive start talking or think of some ideas to bring people back or new blood in.

Good shout. there are a few nets still happen up this way regularly, but most days its a snoozefest beyond those. The band really only comes alive when there's a lift on.

New Washington 2 been tested on CB works well on ctcss.
It also has a built in parrot repeater too!
Now we try split ctcss tones on simplex to get semi duplex mode.
Ivd also tried Zello VoIP CB gateway with ctcss controlled squelch.
That prevent false tripping of the squelch mute.
