I use a traditional (transformer) PS for the radios and a SM one for other equipment use, no issues.

I had an Astron 50A, ended up not using it due to drawing over 100w sat there doing nothing and if it was sat on something solid upstairs the hum could be heard all over the house.
I use smaller transformer power supplies and have a 100A server psu if I need loads of amps
