Morning Everyone
Please can I have some help and support?
I’m new to scanning and picked up a small scanner cheap locally. I have it plugged into a aerial on my garage roof (my wife won’t let me put it any higher)
In the past I have picked up vhf uhf and dmr no issue.
I have been looking for frequencies but not sure what I can reach or pick up…
Does anyone have a list of what I could get on the North Yorkshire coast in relation to airband? I have searched the forum but not sure what range I am hitting yet.
I get short quick messages on 128.125 but struggle to understand where they are.
Any advice or help would be a huge help
Cheers
Chris

Re: New to Scanning
I would try scanning the 156 meg area as you are up by the coast for Marine traffic.
If the problen cant be sorted with a "LUMP-HAMMER" then its most likely to be an Electrical fault

Re: New to Scanning
No problem.
Think those are the majority of "easier" stuff to hear from your location. Your best bet is to listen to each for a few hours and you will hear hand-offs to the next sector controller, which will include the new channel/frequency.
All the best
Rob

Re: New to Scanning
Hello Chris,
Please excuse the brevity. You are hearing the London's Lower North Sea sector on 128.125 - 126.775 is directly above it and will possibly be busier.
You could also try:-
121.225 Scottish Humber
126.3 Scottish Talla
126.925 Scottish Montrose
133.8 Scottish Eastern
134.775 Scottish Tyne
Inbounds to Newcastle on 124.375
You should be in with a shout with these - then just listen for the hand-offs as the flights progress.
Good luck
Rob
