Another one for the list is the much run-down Team "Lancaster" radio. There's been half a dozen advertised over the years that I've seen, but only mine and 1 other non-boxed one didn't have knobs or switch buttons missing. Cheapo build quality but one for the list methinks.
There's one a couple of miles from me, the guy who I did the Danita conversions with had it up on eBay a few months ago and I don't think it sold. I've got a Pan Megatop FM which I think is exactly the same radio. That sold but got returned as 'it's not what my boyfriend wanted'. I had certainly never used it on anything other than a dummy load.

Also known as a Braemar and a Smoky Bear. Not that rare.

As I said, I'd not looked, it's a rig I bought 30+ years ago, I wired it up last week and it still works (as well as it ever did)
Interesting to see it in other clothes tho

I think Mark's Major 5000 is possibly going to be the rarest of the radios that we own on here (gimme gimme you jammy ****** lol), even if it isn't the same as the ones advertised. I've never seen a Megatracker Homebase but they did sell them at least. Other radios were advertised but never seemed to get to the shops such as the Binatone Powerbase 5, DNT Meteor 5040 FM, Ham International Mariner UK, JWR M3 and the Emu Trinity. Would love to just see one of those, let alone own one!

Another is the Midland 76-300 Homebase that's mentioned in the very early CB mags listings. Chap on youtube's got one (Richard - friend of yours Mark) that I was going to bid on, but the lag on our work computers meant that my sniping bid in the last 10 seconds didn't go through and he won it for only £25 Godammit.

Don't you just hate that :x With me it's usually my Internet connection that takes a dive 5 seconds before the auction finishes :)

That's happened to me in the past too, but not lately thank God.

It used to happen to me a lot back in Brum. I don't use computers much but used to play an online game called "Battlefield 1942", and has been having a running battle with some spotty teenager who was very very good. I was just about to kill his Tiger tank with my badly damaged Sherman for the first time when the connection dropped out...NOOOOOO!!!!

Good old internet lag, it has been the cause of many a mouse or keyboard being flung lol
I will not be commanded, I will not be controlled.
n+1 the formula for working out how many radios you need with n being the current amount.

Something I've noticed recently using the mobile eBay app, it tells you you're the high bidder on an auction right to the end, then informs you that you were outbid once the auction ends.

Had that happen to me several times recently and it's caused much swearing.

this is why I dont ever bid till the last 5 secs.... set your max bid mentally and then stick it in at 5 secs
if you win, great, if you loose, it was more than you wanted to pay and stopped you being tempted to bid "just a tad more"
it also stops the prices going sky high if you dont keep bidding against someone (well sometimes)

Had that myself with the mobile app problem. Fingers were poised to pay immediately with Paypal as I'd "won" it, only to find the "pay now" box didn't appear next, just an "auction ended" one. Grrrrrr!

I still haven't had the chance to look at the old mags yet. I take it that is it basically a Rotel RVC 240 with a rewired channel selector and a different PLL chip.
I haven't had a good look inside it it Simon but yeah it looks the same as the RVC240.
One big difference, it has a 6 pin mic socket.
