What scanners are people using

Post by AMX97 »

Hey all I've got a 125xlt witch is brilliant. I'm curious what are others using or what's your recommendations for scanners... I've been looking at some okder stuff as been told some can receive other bands or have a wider range.

I have several Scanners, been using them for years.... However, a couple of months ago I bought a AOR AR-DV1 and I must say it's the best scanner that I have owned in 40 years. No need for computers, In its auto Mode will decode so many digital modes Fusion.Dstar DMR to name just a few.Plus it has USB and LSB , Oh yea and its frequency coverage on the UK model is great.
If the problen cant be sorted with a "LUMP-HAMMER" then its most likely to be an Electrical fault

AOR AR2002, AOR AR DV1, YAESU 9600, and a Fairhaven RD 500. I'm considering selling the Fairhaven or swapping for a Whistler TRX2. Jury's out on that one!!

I have an AR3000A n my bench at work connected to a white stick colinear on the roof of the building which works pretty well. I should improve the feeder as it’s fairly long but it works well got the intended function.

Uniden 125-xlt and Grecom PSR-295. The latter seems to suffer from less from interference on VHF low band but there's nowt on there anyway :-D

I'm new to scanning but I use a handheld Uniden 125xlt with a Diamond D130 discone- out the back on the shed.
