The one in Caerphilly (The Malcolm Uphill) was using PMR446 to communicate between bar and kitchen staff. It was quite funny to listen to at times and proves some customers will complain about anything as the food is quite good in there in my experience.

Since Covid 19 my work routine and pub opening hours have changed so not sure if its the same.

I have visited many Weatherspoons across the uk.

I can assure you PMR446 CH5 And CH6 are used.

5 is bar staff
6 is kitchen / hotel.

They don't use Uk Gen. They haven't a licence to do so.

Eric Bartholemew Morecambe 446 ch3
Auld Brig, Irvine, Crystal Palace, Glasgow, The Moon Under Water, Wigan, all channel 3.
Sir Richard Owen, Lancaster, channel 8, at one time 462.325, which is a Baofeng 888 channel 3.

If they all used the same channel, in Glasgow there are 5 Wetherspoons in about a 600 yard radius, Crystal Palace, Sir John Moore, The Counting House Sauchiehall Street and The Society Room, there would be a bit of confusion.
