Thanks for these. They may be of some use - especially the broadbanding section.

Tim. Any chance you could post a couple of photos of the solder side (output area) of your Grant. Mine has some SSB audio issues and I just want to make sure that the components that are on there should be there. Thanks

Re: Grant, not seen this type before
Hi Claude .
My GRANT looks like your first "138XLR" image as I have the coax cable around the PLL . The problem is that I can't see the complete output stage . Do you have any other images of that area ?
Thanks !

Re: Grant, not seen this type before
I don't currently have my radio; it got sent to Wales for Nick to work his magic on it. I've asked him if it's possible to have photos, but in any case I should have it back on Sunday so I can do it myself after then. The back to back front end diode mod that yours has will be done when I get mine back.

Re: Grant, not seen this type before
OK . Thanks Tim . I'm going to start to strip mine down anyway , and clean up that stage . I can then go through it with the schematic to see what's going on .

Re: Grant, not seen this type before
Actually I've just looked at my TRC and that's almost the same as mine , so I can use it as a reference .

Thanks Dave. I've got my 449 here too. I'm using it as a reference to try and fix this Grant. Cheers
