NOS Westland 707 On Ebay.

Post by astradyne »

So 100 brand new Westland 707's have been listed on the bay. £156 plus £24 P&P. I'm sure the guy who bought the one from Tenby may be feeling a little peeved right now. But what are your thoughts? Last time a job lot of these were discovered they were snapped up along with some SSB homebase rigs (Lafayette Petrusse?)

I remember several having issues and needed servicing/components replacing. Still, with possibly a little TLC, a nice addition to the shack?

Not a bad price i suppose when you consider what people pay for knackered doorstops.

Fingers crossed it turns out okay, what with the seller having only a 9 feedback score...and one of those was a cancelled sale by the seller. I saw the ended ad' on the link and it looked like only one was for sale, but maybe not.

You'd also think they'd have counted exacty how many they have for sale, rather than a rough estimate according to the description.

According to the listing description there was 100. Whether that's true/correct is yet to be seen.

Looking at recently added feedback they've sold a couple of Telsat 805B homebase rigs as well.

Image two shows dozens of boxes at the rear left. If these are other radios, then there's quite a few!

I keep checking in their "other items for sale" but so far nothing yet. But I imagine at these prices they don't stay listed for long. Their second hand value way exceeds the cost of a brand new one which is crazy. But if he does have one hundred 707's I'd be expecting to see a few amusingly priced units popping up soon enough.

Update on mine. Posted today with tracking. Very doubtful it will be here before Christmas, but hopefully some time next week.

Ebay ended his listing as he had reached his limit for this month . So he hasn't sold them all .

Ebay ended his listing as he had reached his limit for this month . So he hasn't sold them all .
I asked him if he had any more radio's and he said yes. He also mentioned ebay ending his listings.

CB Master 3600 - £120 plus shipping (£30 to the UK).

Westland 707 - £150 plus shipping.

He said he won't know about the Telsat 805B until January.

Obviously import fees will apply on the above prices.

Worth snapping up as, has been proven, these will sell for over double the asking price here.

Guessing it's another bulk find in a warehouse somewhere.

Maybe , but if a 100 of them find their way on to UK shores then the price will drop . For me it works out at about €220 a radio , which is about €170 more than I would normally spend on anything these days . Anyway . Good luck to those who take the leap .
