What a great place this is!

I used to really be into scanning on my old Steepletone many moons ago (which I still have), and it was brilliant. I'd spend hours just turning the dial and seeing what I could find; anything would do as long as it was understandable.

I missed those days and thought I should get into it again. The Steepletone seemed a little old fashioned, so I plumped for a Uniden Bearcat XLT125.
What? something that scans for you that doesn't require small turns of the tuning wheel?
Amazing! What a world of change that is! To see the frequency without trying to dissect each one on a dial was a world away from what I got started with, and I imagine what most of you began with too! Isn't it great!

Well, I got my Bearcat unprogrammed. I had it in my mind that I should do things myself; discover what is around me, plot frequencies in a spreadsheet with comments as to what they might be. What a wonderful little toy this has become, and I'm delighted to be back active again.
