Aluminium V Steel

Post by MW0SWA »

I am in the process of repairing my Trio R1000 receiver.

The rf att switch wont turn around because the aluminium shaft inside has become detached from the coupling.

Ok so I have bought some replacement coupling and a steel shaft.

My question is this, by taking out an aluminium component and replacing it with a steel one, could this interfere with the receiver's capabilities??

Provided the switch functions in the same manner there should be no difference.
