I know that the MTH800 have the word clear on the label, how would you tell if the SRP2000 is in clear mode?
Thanks

I'm not sure if explaining the inner workings of mobile network identities is what is REALLY wanted here...
Have you got a problematic terminal that refuses to talk to other terminals? Are you trying to solve some sort of problem?

Sorry guys been away... I mean. On the Motorola 850 there is a suggestion that he rear label should show "CLEAR" to make it a realistic purchase. Is the Sepura the same?
This explains it all though...TRON wrote:* 4 7 7

I haven't noticed any relationship between labeling and encryption on the Sepura's. There MAY be an indication, but I've never noticed it.

Re: How can you tell if a Sepura is clear?
My understanding is that on the label there is a hardware code (H/W Code)
On my srh3800 it is PS9TG001T400G00
Now the 4th and 5th characters (T and G) is the frequency band TG = 400-433mhz
The main frequency bands in use that you see for sale is TT = 380-400mhz, TW = 380-430mh, TZ = 410-430mhz, TG is listed above, UO = 440-473mhz and TS = can't remember exactly but I think around 360 - 400mhz
The 6th character is a number which represents the encryption originally in the handset.
In this case the number is 0 which means clear.
If it was 1 it would be TEA1. So if mine was TEA1 the H/W code read PS9TG101T400G00
2 would be TEA2 etc
Hope this helps
