Strathclyde fire + rescue.

Post by mikecharlie »

Strathclyde fire + rescue have changed their appliance callsigns, and I dont know why. Does'nt make any difference when listening in apart from the amusing confusions the callers make on the tounge-twistery callsigns, I.e. (Uniform - zero-one -alpha-one) although now I don't know the station areas. Plus does anyone have freq's for Lothian and Borders and Dumfries and Galloway Ambulances (VHF preferrred).

I asked on the Yahoo group Scottish Scanning about the new appliance and station codes, and was sent a limited list off group, and told not to pass it on. The list only included East Renfrewshire and bits of Ayrshire.

The callsign Romeo 04 Delta 1 is R (North or South Ayrshire) Station 04 (Dreghorn) Appliance type D (ARP) manning (number in the crew) 1.

Before midnight on the 30th of September the same vehicle was Delta Zero 51, now it's Romeo Zero 4 Delta followed by the number on board.

ARP is something like a high reach appliance and rescue pump! I was only given so many translations to abbreviations.

Quebec, as in Canada. From what I've got, these are the former Delta callsigned stations, now with 'Quebec' attached.

Q11 Dalmellington
Q12 New Cumnock
Q13 Cumnock
Q14 Muirkirk
Q15 Mauchline
Q16 Newmilns
Q17 Stewarton

If your fireman friend has an entire list he would like to pass on.........

I've noticed this morning north Argyllshire appliances have gone from Foxtrot to Lima.
