KTA1276Y has blown

Post by thoroughbreed27 »

I have a Derby TS1000 ( Uk FM straight 40) i use in the car as its nice and small to fit in these modern cars, however it stopped transmitting and a TO-220 part stamped “ KA1276Y” has a crack in it so assuming this is the culprit.
Not much info out there on my radio so would anyone know what the ”KA1276Y” is - is it a voltage regulator as never come across that part before, normally the regulators i have seen have been the 7808 type so thought i ask you knowledgeable chaps on here. The part doesn’t seem readily available from what i can see so is there a replacement readily available part I can use instead?
