Hi Chaps, hopefully in the right place here?
I have a Midland M20 bought cheap due to a RF power issue.
Someone has attempted the high power mod, by cutting OPT5 and then have damaged the pot RP8
I have currently "wedged" it and it's giving me 3watts (intermittently), but what I need to do is replace the pot.
Problem is that I can't find a schematic to know the value of the pot to replace it.
Anyone have any ideas please?

Just a thought, can I just link it out?
If so, which terminals should I link?

Anyone any advice for the Op?
Maybe Claude or Black Sprit?

Re: Midland M20 RF Power Issue
Well, I've repaired OPT5 and bridged the pot so I have a fixed 5 watts output now, which will do for me.
If I ever want 10 watts, I'll just cut the link again.
Would still like the value of the pot so it can be replaced at some point in the future if any service schematics ever show up for this set.
Thanks all.

Measure the two pins that are close to each other with a multimeter. Better to do it with the pot removed from the board, If you don't have a multimeter a cheap one can be bought for around a fiver, If your into messing with electronics its a must have item

Normally they have 5k to 10k ohm.
