Hi All,
Was wondering if anyone could tell me where to buy the correct capacitor ( 650pf ) C11 Next to 10.240 xtal, I read somewhere it's a mica capacitor.
Would be greatfull for any help.
Thanks

Re: Ham Multimode 2
Hi All,
Got a Multimode 2 problem , the pll wouldn't lock untill I replaced C11 from an old major, now all three bands are giving spot on voltage, also replaced VCO , 2166 & 1969 transistors but still no Tx or Rx signals on any band or mode . sounds right ie .. FM noise Am quiet, and usual usb and lsb sounds, so the audio ic must be ok?? Done all the VCO alignment 3.6v ch1 low band 3.7v 41 mid and 3.8v Ch1 hi band.
Sitting at 10.244 stable.
Im trying to keep it alive as it's in good nick any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Ham Multimode 2
10.240 you mean..
if you have voltages correct, VCO, PLL, the 5v zener, the cap.
check you have the right crystals..
also try and inject a signal and shop a TX signal..
if you have a scope and signal generator you're good to go.
if not, improvise.
also be checking for changes in voltage from TX to RX to show things are switching.

Re: Ham Multimode 2
Hi,
Thanks for the help, yes all voltages are ok crystals are the correct ones , strange thing when put the scope on TP4 to adjust for max amplitude...no change at all at T1 for offset Freq alignment.
Same for RF power alignment no changes at T3 ,T5,T2,T4 on scope.
I can tx with another rig into a dummy load right next to the Multimode on same channel no matter which mode it still receives nothing. But FM sounds like FM and am sounds like am and ssb sounds like ssb!!!!!
I also have Freq generator app on phone on a positive note ...the relay clicks
Thanks and I really do appreciate the help
