Marine VHF

Post by andy5600 »

Hello,

I have been searching for any plans or info to make a homebrew dipole for marine band VHF for receiving,
(centred on 159) not found much but the ideas i have found all seem to differ on the length the poles should be.
Anyone built something that works well?
Thanks.

When determining how long to make each leg of a Dipole antenna, dividing the frequency in MHz into 468 will give the overall length. To find the half wave, divide that number by two. This will give you the length of each leg of the antenna.
