DIY HF vertical from tent poles?

Post by 26mb04 »

Has anyone made a HF vertical from collapsible fibreglass tent poles? I have a spare length of these, I was thinking of running a wire down the middle instead of the elastic and terminating it at the base. It seems like a good way of getting height without carrying long pole sections around. I was going to use a hefty base mount so it doesn't fall over.

Itresesting i, d keep the elastic and run a t2lt antenna made for your band... Even a carp/ kite pole is a few grams... Solid when guyed and you can run vertical, sloper or horizontal with the aid of a tree... Like that idea though..
looking for propagation for 2013 and beyond... Operating close to the Edge....
