Eagerly awaiting the almost unlimited responses.

Was it really that bad? Any personal experiences?
I've owned the 2000 & 2001 models, which I quite liked. All I know is the 1000 wasn't built around these chassis's.

If i remember correctly the chassis/case was wider than it needed to be on these given the size of the PCB, If i can think of one good point it would be that they weren't the worse looking radios in the world,

And as said previously the channel changer action was quite smooth

I'm sure rich started a thread years ago, 100 uses for a fidelity 1000, Or words to that effect, Yeah they were pretty dire, Mind you fidelity always was a budget brand. I'd actually forgot about that review

I've mentioned them in the other section, not knowing this was here.

I'm also not sure if there was any other radio that had sooooo many "clones" like the Cheiza, Gecol, Cheetah etc etc. I bet there are about a dozen of them if you really, really want to compile a list as a fun thing to do :)

That's so you can fit a Uniden 100 inside it. You can then leave it in the car, and there'd be no takers :D
I've never tried one. I like underdog radios, but the audio muting on every channel change would do my head in! {bnghd}

Nice AM sounding receive, though:

In the comments on that last vid, somebody fitted a bridge rectifier to theirs, so the rig would work with either polarity, but hooking it up with reverse polarity switched in a relay, which activated their mod for extra channels! How sneaky is that!!

I have several in parts in my loft. All of them are minus s-meter as that is the best part of them. (same as a Undien Export radio)

I have never used one on air, I don't feel like I am missing much.

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

Chuck them on eBay. You are sitting on a gold mine there.
