Back in the day my brother started on CB with a Chelcom delta DX antenna. The base was made from fibreglass to insulate it from the pol and it had a fibreglass rod to stand the coax away from the lower element.
Did anyone else have one? There must have been at least 4 or 5 in this area alone, at least one of which was a prototype.

I like the way its marketed as meeting home office specifications, then a few lines down it says it can handle upto 500w lol. Never heard of one myself mind.

They were very similar to an antenna called a Black knight, only the Black Knight was base loaded.
My brother only ever ran 4 watts back then but he was always getting complaints from the neighbour due to TVi.
Strangely that stopped when he got a 1/2 wave in 1994 after they were legalised.
