Superstar 2800 alignment

Post by hawai_50 »

Can anyone give information on the alignment of a Superstar 2800 radio? It is supposed to be identical to the Polmar Oregon and Formac 777 models. Thnks.

The diagram is going to be very helpful, although in principle it seems somewhat different from the station, since the Superstar has 6 channels and a single crystal to change frequencies, while in the Polmar Oregon diagram it seems that there are 7 crystals for the 7 different channels, a true luxury. Thanks 14CS06!

I didn't know that there are two different versions with 7 channels each. The one I have uses a single crystal for all 7 bands, and is the same as your second image. I attach here some photos with details.
The main problem is that it is somewhat displaced in frequencies (all of them) and I need to center them. I see that there is a block with three air capacitors (trimmers): CT2, CT172, CT173 and another one further away from the front that has 2 capacitors: CT6 (red color), CT7 (black color). I would like to know what their function is, and how to center the frequency. Thanks
