AT-5555 V5 setup help please

Post by ZL1CTS »

Hi All,
just came into the possession of an AT-5555 non USB programmable version, looks like 2011.. its it set to export mode 25Mhz to the bottom of 28Mhz, I want to reset to just 10m to reach to 30mhz, but the Func-S/RF button push at power on does nothing, is there another way to switch between 10m and export mode on these?

says on main board 555-rf-v5 2011/06/08

I saw another post about alignment on these radios, func + power on then press RD,NB,DW, to get in to the alignment menu, that worked, I can get in there.
I just want to be able to get it to go to the 10m band, up to 30Mhz

Any help please, and if someone has a user manual or a service manual that covers the alignment and band changing that would be great, every time I google for it, I get for newer versions

thanks

Cliff

Hi All, thanks for responses
No key combinations actually work except reset combination, I knocked up a programming cable once I worked out it has a USB header inside, found an old USB to ttl converter, pushed the wires in the socket and to my surprise the computer read the radio, I then put in the frequencies I wanted and wrote it back to the radio, so now I have band A (nothing on 25 MHZ I wanted) set to cover the bits of 10M I want and the rest on 11m. So I am relatively happy, the only bit about the radio I dont like is its inability to read SWR correctly, its somewhat off. but it is basically a Chinese CB radio so cant expect too much. and I really only want it to monitor 10m while I am using other bands on HF... if anyone wants to may their own cable, get a cheap USB to TTL converter off aliexpress etc. about $3, connect earth tx and rx to the usb header in the radio, just use a multimeter to confirm earth pin, and swap tx/rx if it doesnt work.. really easy, I am going to hot glue the board into the radio and have a usb cable out back so I cand easily make changes...
Cheers
