no connection other than he did the job quickly, fixed what was fixable, improved what wasn't, turned it around very quickly and I didn't need to remortgage the house.

Re: I found a good repair guy!
That's a coincidence as his name came up on FB yesterday. I'm after someone who can repair an IC7300, do you know if he does surface mount device PCBs?
my friend grafter, seems like you are using a very offensive tone in the reply.

This is a warning - his reputation is not good. Personally, I would never use him from what I've heard from multiple sources. Local and Internet.

Re: I found a good repair guy!
just speaking from my personal experience.
and a quick google gives him 4.9/5 out of 183 votes.
He fixed my radio for an acceptable price and returned it safely.
cant ask more than that.,

Re: I found a good repair guy!
(late here - I was after Jame's contact details.. since discovered)
My story is that James took apart my Acom 2000 a couple years ago (I happened to be on holiday in Cornwall at the time). Easy fix - but a hell of a lot of screws. Pleasant guy, time-served etc. Genuinely interested in what folks do and what they need - and at what cost. 4.9/5 is probably about right.

I have no direct experience of his workmanship but he is very expensive.
Also whilst looking at his videos on Facebook I saw a radio which I had previously sold in full working order a couple of weeks previously.
Strangely it needed a full alignment and lots of remedial work.
So either the person who bought it had a good twiddle or...

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

I would not use him again, when ya goods come back and they still have problems his attitude changes.....I'd throw a rig down garden path before use him again.
