Well I got my Intek MT-5050's out today I have 4 of them. I need to order some new decent rechargeable batteries, then I'm all set.
Not done any PMR446 in awhile. I look forward to doing some DX sometime.

Get yourself on a hilltop. Plenty activity on 446 these days

To many kids on it for my liking today. There were a few businesses using it as well. I'll wait for conditions to pick up. In the mean time I'll be sorting out a few PMR446 bits for some future hilltoping.

Very busy here yesterday, now that we are 'free' many stations up on the hills.
I went for a long walk with my Linton LT-3288, my first UHF radio that I use for 446 that I bought in 2010, with a Watson WSMA-7000 antenna.
Good contact with a Charlie Tango station (Dave) who was up in the hills around 15 miles away and I was next to the Rhymney River in Machen, not bad for a 2w handy and many more could be heard.
I did have a quick listen and call on 70cm but it was dead, so gave up and went back to the activity on 446.
Around here if you use channels 9 to 16 they are usually free from kids and businesses but it probably varies with the area.

I had a good laugh on PMR446 this afternoon, some right nutters on there but funny, the new Baofeng BF-888S radios performed horrendously compared to my H-777 Baofengs. The H-777 Baofengs were actually pretty decent. . I will take the Motorola radios out with me next time. I must do PMR446 more often.

I took out one of the Intek MT5050 radios with me today and I forgot how good it was, this thing hands down is one of the best PMR446 handhelds. I managed to make a contact with one of my old army mates, I was banging out on it from high ground and made plenty of contacts on it straight away even at low ground its still pretty good.

Went back out on the hill top today, made zero QSO's conditions were very poor.
I got the BBC Studios on Channel 1. 446.00625 WHAT??? so they are using PMR446.
TK Max on PMR 446 and JD Sports.
I had security called out on me urm exactly what are security going to do? I'm miles away from town centers up a hilltop and its a public band for license free walkie talkies Duh.
