Bit miffed, the outer cables sheath is all frayed badly at the speaker and fraying at the jack plug. (No fraying on photos)

It works though so I'll either just heat shrink it or tape.
Can't be bothered returning it, contemplating whether to give negative or neutral feedback. They must of noticed the state of it when packing.

Recently bought a thunderpole tx and a
k-po dx 5000 :)
Perhaps the photo's were taken of another one that they had and have already sold (or are keeping). Or, may be an internet photo otherwise, to try and disguise the fact that the cable was frayed. Sounds dishonest either way.

Otherwise, could it have happened in transit with it rubbing on the bracket perhaps?

They have a few for sale, all different listings and photos.
And no. Definitely didn't rub on the bracket in transit.
The main thing is it works, but still deceptive and not as described. (Thats what narks me tbh)
The jack plug has two nubs on it that I thought might need filing down to make it push in all the way and seat properly. I'd tried it with my phone and something else and it didn't work.
I wasn't prepared to file it down to test it and was ready to return it but I
tried it on my 9900 and it worked. :)

I think the outer sheath may be breaking down/brittle with age and storage conditions.

It's no good filing the jackplug down with your phone, it's not abrasive enough ;) lol.

I know what you mean.

As you say, a bit of heatshrink covers it upbutit's annoying though.

Yes Dave I believe they are.

I've read they are good, crystal clear for voice audio and ideal for CB radio. (I've not tested it for that yet.
I think I read one recommendation on here.

Ps.
I got a £4 refund for the damage.

Just picked up one of those Quansheng UV-K6 handhelds. Very cheap but very versatile.

I've flashed the firmware and I'm currently exploring all the new features and frequencies.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

Haha.
CB related - Bag of PL plugs, pair of wire crimpers, box of crimp on lugs/spade connectors, 8AWG grounding cable, 2 way antenna switcher.

After reading more - I really need to replace the RG58 cable that came with my antenna to something better before I go drilling holes in the wall for multiple antennae.
Also need the proper diameter pole to put up the Sirio M400 CB antenna, designed to mount on top of the right sized pole, I see Screwfix have them.

Got a new SD card for the Raspberry PI with the hope of getting "Ham Pi" downloaded and running.
