YAESU FT-757 no Transmission, any tipps?

Post by TangoMike »

Hallo sirs,

i have here a used YAESU FT-757 witch will not Transmitt.
Whe I Key the Mike no HF will left the Transeiver, only the 'I guess Voltage source for the TX' 1SA1012y (Q8) gets VERY hot, so hot its plasic screw melts of. TX draw about 3,5Amps while keyd.
No signts of burn or smell in the Transeiver except Q8.
any Tipps where to start ?

I would check the tantalum capacitors in the pa unit I think c32 usually goes, also check the 8v regulator 7808 and diodes.
2sa1012 can be replaced with a tip42c transistor if i remember right.
