JS8 test on CH24

Post by andrew30 » 09 Oct 2018, 15:41

Hi,
anyone from central europe to do SKED on 27.245 using JS8CALL this weekend (say Saturday, 12:10 PM UTC)?
Going portable, and would welcome contacts from anyone on this relatively new mode.
PSKReporter shows contacts over 1000km, so it shouldn't be an issue.

That is, if my interface cable arrives until Friday..

Anyone?
All you need is TCVR, interface cable and PC or RasPi.

Over 12 stations in Germany yesterday.
Great chance for DX

I'd love to experiment with this but I have nothing that supports SSB. I'll try to make an interface and a proper antenna soon just to experiment with SSTV over AM.

SSTV should work better through FM. Anyway, Wrocław should be a possble target from JN99FP even on FM/AM.
If you're on air at that time, I'd be happy to work you.

In the meantime I'll be hoping at least one of the German monitors or stations will be up.

Unfortunately I'll be traveling at that time to another city. But I'll post again here when I have my interface and maybe we can try it then if you'd like.

Change of plans andrew. I'll be around at that time. The question now is, is my handheld enough to receive you if I find some open space near the south of the city? Or is it not even worth trying? Next month I'll probably have a portable dipole so I'll be able to go mobile and test it on the field.
