Been off air for around 4 years,so thought i would wire my intek handheld up to my trusty 3ft firestick on my trike! Nothing!! Had a few foreign stations on eu am,but bob all on fm!!! When I went off air,it was reasonably busy,albeit the same folk sitting on 19!!!!! Whats going on? Know my gear is working ok,just no one around anymore! Tried various times and locations,nowt! zilch! diddly! Has Nottingham cb finally killed itself???

Everyone's on SSB now, even the idiots have transferred! It's been top of the meter European propagation most all day today.

Need to find out frequencies then,see if I get any joy,if not,time to get rid of everything for good,I think!

Apart from the many breakers who were on UK40FM yesterday Tim,as the 26 div was end-stopping me for about 4 hours,and I have had many good contacts worldwide on FM.Ssb isn't the be all and end all that some will say is real dx-ing mode,if the other parts of the UK are coming through on SSB,there's a pretty good chance you can hear plenty on the legal 80 chs on Am/FM aswell.Mobile set up was AE 6110/kl200/Les Wallen modulator on a dv mount drilled through the roof.Happy with my wee AE 6110 I got a month ago,only £50 delivered and a 2 yr guarantee.And yes it has no SSB,even although it goes against the grain of what I would usually buy,I like it as it will fit where many other radios won't in a modern car,and all it really needs is an extension speaker,to make it a good ultra compact radio same crap mic as AT 6666/SS 9900 but mic off grant 2 maybe

Still a bit of FM activity round here.

About 20 -30 locals within a 20 mile radius of me still use Fm here.
