LIGHTWEIGHT SCANNING ANTENNA WANTED.
What i am looking for is a lightweight base antenna to put up on a 12mt HD fibreglass telescopic spiderpole , The scanner i will be using is a uniden ubc785xlt any thoughts please,

https://www.eham.net/articles/8808 will cover 100-200MHz and 400-500 easily. Made with copper wire will be lightweight.

Hi Chris, am i right in saying to build this antenna ( open sleeve dipole ) i will need 2 x 49.3cm=19 1/2 inch 1 up and 1 down ? what do i do with the 2 x 31.6 cm=12 1/2 inch sleeve elements ??? how are they atatched ect ????

Sleeve elements must be insulated from main (49.3cm). Not connected to main, just parallel to it in proper distance. When I built mine I used plastic water pipe. Make 2 spacers, drill holes in it.
I can draw later how it could be done.
