Midland powermax (77-250k) mid to uk conversions

I wonder who converted all the cept radios to Uk channels for them? I've had a few over the years and all but one had an identical channel conversion board making them UK only despite being marked as pr27gb. I'm guessing it was a way of shifting the unpopular midblock radios in the early 90's?

I think they were done by Pama, as they distributed them. The Danita Mk5 was the same.

Not bad radios.

Beautiful looking radio's the Midland PowerMax. I've owned 2, but they've both been the original mid block versions.

I had a totally mint, boxed one but sold it as I don't collect mid-block stuff. I liked the look of it but I know the gold wears off the knobs with a lot of use. The yellow/orange display and red meter inlay were certainly unusual too.

Someone on here did some of Pama's conversions...think it might have been Clint that hasn't been on for a while.
