Omegaforce S45 help

Post by Shodi »

Hi folks I was a cb'er for many years and after ten year break I have returned once more to see if the revival really is on its way, However I bought a couple of rigs (1 for base, 1 for mobile ) My problem being this, 1 of them is the Omegaforce S45 and I do not fully know how to work it, Is there anyone out there who could supply me with the owners manual, or a copy.

Thanks Tam (Shodi)

Hi Shodi,

Check out the Transmission 1 downloads:

http://www.transmission1.co.uk/download ... ce_s45.pdf

I have an Omegaforce S45.

Any questions, just ask.

For instructions on changing jumper settings have a look at http://www.radiomods.co.nz/magnumomegaforcemod.html

Hi Shodi

Welcome to the forums. The manual you are looking for is available in our downloads section on the site. Take a look in here http://www.transmission1.co.uk/modules. ... load&sid=1

We've also added some other radio manuals and hope to add more as time goes by. If anyone wants to help then please PM me and I will give you the address to send manuals to.

Hope that helps
Regards

Hi folks many thanks this is just what i needed, My next move is to replace the antenna, My thoughts are leaning towards Antron A-99 for coverage and economy.

What do you think?

I use a Solarcon (Antron) A99.

I have the Firetip top and the Groundplane kit for improved distance working. It's been up for over a year now and works very well.

It's very weatherproof and has survived a good few storms at my QTH.

With the Omegaforce it's useable throughout the entire frequency range.

Highly recommended.

The other antenna worth a look at, is the Sirio 827. Another top performer, but not quite so robust in bad weather (in my opinion).

Many thanks for your input Guzzy, The antron is now ordered from Rocketradio and I would hope to be operational with it before the new year. GP kit will have to wait a little longer tho. Xmas drains the bank an awful lot ;-)

The Groundplane kit increases the angle of radiation on the A99 so that you get a more pronounced angle for "skip signals" on transmission than with a standard vertical.

If you want (to transmit) good local signals. Leave it off!
