Guys going to try DMR again and just bought myself a Retevis rt3 uhf version, running window 10 here. can someone advise me what drivers / software and what order etc I need to load for a hopefully problematic install ?!!

When i got my MD 380 I just plugged the cable in and windows 10 installed the driver, I didn't have to install anything myself.

Okay cheers unfortunately nothing installing on its own on mine ! Nothings that easy for me !!!

Okay all up and running with thanks. looking for someone to do me a custom codeplug ( scottish UHF codeplug plus a few other personal spot freqs off interest ) if anyone can help me out ?

The TYT files are the same.

What's generally regarded as the best alternative hacked firmware for these TYT md380 RT3 range off radios? Is there much off a difference in actual features? Looking for front panel Programming and promiscuous mode as well as user database. Anyone advise ?

I use TyMD380tools. I don't think there has been a lot going on with the original MD380tools recently. I made a video about how to install it, so have a look at that if you're interested: https://youtu.be/cA1GkqgO_oQ

Yep thanks again its your videos that keep me from giving up at times !! got the latest KK4VCZ md380 tools 2.0 on both my MD380 and MD390 gps and must admitt seems loads off options within there, 1-7 menu options ( not sure if that the same as the Tymd380tools you are talking about ?

TyMD380tools is made by Ty Weaver, KG5RKI. It's not the same one. KK4VCZ is Travis Goodspeed, or the maker of the original version.

They are mostly the same anyway, so unless you want some specific features from one version it shouldn't matter too much which you use.

Okay thanks sorry my confusion.. to be honest personally find the whole dmr scene difficult enough itself to understand without introducing even further features / menus onto the radio, but boys will be boys when it comes to modding eh !

p.s had a look at the TyMD380tools by Ty Weaver but not sure the server is working, downloads via the all in one software but just comes up with done within seconds and never completes as per your video demp.. not sure if problem on the server side or what if you get a chance to check it out thanks.
