Once a month isn't enough. People switch on after being off for months/years and hear nothing and switch back off for months/years. Need a daily presence or don't even bother because it's a waste of time. Just my opinion.

i am interested albeit i have a Harvard WT 44 Cb Radio Handheld [waiting on delivery] and not sure how it will perform as yet

Regarding your Harvard WT 44 Cb Radio. Don't expect much !!
Using it's built in aerial it will only get you a range of a couple of miles. Plugging it into a BIG home-base aerial, like an 18 foot "Silver Rod" type thing will help a lot, but it is still never going to be a high performer.
