A rare example of a Superstar 4900B, I think you all will agree. Operates from 23.000mhz to 29.699 mhz AM/FM/SSB, so plenty of coverage. Plug in the wall(240v) or will work on 12v also,

I had to look twice as i thought it was a kenwood 570............................

Has any one got one as i do like the look's of this radio................................

My guess is that it will go for more than a lot of proper HF ham kit.

Im going to upset a few of you here and say I dont like it, It looks cheap and nasty, Possibly similar inside to the Albrecht 497 base, Which has horrible build quality..

i was outbid at £150, but won't go higher as i've seen the Stabo version of the same radio fetch less from germany..!!

if anyone buys this for it's name they want shooting..
£150 will include postage from germany on the stabo 4082 professional..

I had a quick look at the info on cbtricks where there looks to be a homemade schematic and some pics of the insides showing SMD tech has been used.

I can see why people will like this radio but it really is a sheep in wolfs clothing.

The receiver front end is based on 1970s Uniden CB radios. i.e. extremely limited dynamic range. It has a very basic synthesiser.
So don't be fooled that this is even CLOSE to the performance of mainstream Ham gear.

All in all a very pretentious looking radio but I suspect there will be more than a few happy owners of these radios.
I too suspect it will fetch a silly price.

Gotta admit that looks like a Kenwoood. And a rare beast too. Having scoured over the internet for info I think if the listing is honest this

could be a great radio or one that is for the collectors................

Oh wait that`s me,.........................................Damn can`t afford it!

Hope that a TM1 member secures it for reasonable money and comes on here with a glowing report. :)

also know as the Maycom BS 27 and Stabo xf 9082 pro

not very cheap .. but Pretty nasty, known for heat problems and blown finals

haven't seen many maycoms, but the stabo's are quite common
a nice clean one sells for between the 200 / 250 euro.

I'm not sure if the President version was ever released, if it was it never landed here in the 2.I had a 4900B when they were released here but quickly dumped it.It looked cool and had cool features but was a dog of a performer. In hindsight, I should have kept it as a conversation piece.I also had the Super Star 4900 mobile that wasn't too bad of a rig.
