4 Element Yagi and End Fed Dipole

Post by HomerBB »

My neighbor and I have put together a 4 element Yagi from spare parts. It is pointed West currently because so much DX has come from that direction lately. The rotor I have is too light for this antenna, so we're working on getting another one; hopefully soon.
For local/vertical communications I've put up an end fed Dipole.

Everything seems to be working fine so far.

Looks like a 4 ele Sirio yagi, I had one of these on a thirty quid TV rotator for a few years, never missed a beat :) Well it did miss the odd beat, but worked fine for years :)

Nice to have friendly neighbours :)

i like the wide space 1st director, thats something sirio don't understand..

i use the 4 element sirio here, only because the 5 element long john is wide spaced and 20ft boom is just tooooooo long..

worked a fair bit of US the past week, been on the worldwide bowl and 38LSB
but all flat at the moment..

Thanks, everyone. I have been having a blast with the Yagi. Stations I can't even hear on the vertical dipole I talk with on the Yagi. Unfortunately, it is pointed west for now. I do have a TV rotor, so I'm thinking there's nothing to lose trying it out. One day this up coming week I'll put it in place and see if it works. If so, I'll awing it east by northeast and see if I can catch a little of the DX from your neighborhood.
