Hello

Selective call pickup can be involved when there is no reception. check that the connector with the small green wire is present at the back and that the contact is made ... before doing anything else.

It didn't have the plug in the back but I used a one from my petrusse Pacific.
The speaker did a little Pop sound when I plugged a mic in.

Has it got an extension speaker socket to rule out a dodgy speaker?

Just checked ssb output and swr meter is waving about.
But.
On powering up I think it's the relay that might be making the click sound
Speaker does make a key up sound when keyed up
