hy~gain clr2

Post by superstar »

after 3 years up on the stack the new old stock clr2’s swr went into the red, went up yesterday evening to have a look and part of it has broken at the base, looks as though it’s been eaten away by corrosive smoke from the fires we have in winter, the same thing happened to the starduster i had up, but i just put it down to salt air living close to the sea, ill put some pics up of the damage when i get it down, ive got some other stuff to put up though, hygain penetrator 500, avanti astroplane, shakespeare big stick, vector 4000, so off air temporarily :(

Maybe metal fatigue helped that along? Too-ing and fro-ing in the wind over a couple of years may have been enough to weaken it and corrosion compounded it.
Whack up the Ham Int. Hy-Power I sold you! That will be a sight :)
