Linc mk 1 mic n power lead
I'm looking to buy a spare power lead for the Linc mk 1 , are all the leads the same or is it best to buy a heavy duty type as I think I found a 10 amp one on fleebay but then the other doesn't say what amp it is .
Next I'm in need of a Mic to use on it ,just a hand mic . Not sure if I need a power mic as yet but welcome your recommendations on a decent mic.
And what Other radio mica will be wired same please in case I can find a used mic.
Thank you

Re: Linc mk 1 mic n power lead
The MK1 Lincoln doesn't draw that many amps. You can happily run them on a 7A PSU and neither the radio or supply will complain. Saying that, it would be best to buy a good quality power lead which is above and beyond the requirements of the radio. So the 10A lead would be a safe bet.

I'm making my own power cables . I've used 7A cable , which will be more than enough . The manual lists it at 4.5A max consumption .

Re: Linc mk 1 mic n power lead
Amps , I had no idea that a 7 amp would suffice and that draw was only 4,5amp give or take.
Thank you for the extra information ,that's brilliant.
I will order from the suggested supplier soon as.
Mic wise I believe I am also now sorted with a m75 power mic which is wired for the radio from a helpfull forum member.
I would still like to locate a none power mic too as a spare but have found it not a easy mic to buy pre wired for the radio .
Would it be a difficult 're wire from a cobra uniden type 5pin plug to suit the radio.
Thank you for your advices.

Looks simple enough . Pin 1 = Audio . Pin 2 = Shield . Pin 3 = TXoriginal45 wrote: ↑24 May 2018, 13:20 Would it be a difficult 're wire from a cobra uniden type 5pin plug to suit the radio.

Re: Linc mk 1 mic n power lead
Yes , it may be a very simple thing to many and I have rewired a couple of mic plugs years back ,1 more recently but confidence and asking for confirmation occasionally of the correct detail is my downfall.
I am extremely greatful to the forum users that have always helped in all my past posts.
A little candle to light my way is sometimes all it needs.
Thank you everyone once again for all your help past and present

Re: Linc mk 1 mic n power lead
There's absolutely nothing wrong with asking questions or getting confirmation. If you don't ask you don't learn. Also threads like this often help other members, so it's actually a good thing that questions like yours here are asked and answered.
