Re: Superstar 3600 xtal X2 help
I dont know if it is depending on the built in xtal, but the radio is rock solid and bang on frequency. Nearly no drift! Amazing...

I like the Ranger EPT360010Z board Ralf . I have both a 6 band 3900 , and a silver President Franklin which use them , and they're very reliable .

So the only difference between the 2 radios is the sticker ? Doesn't seem right ?

Re: Superstar 3600 xtal X2 help
Maybe they were both 40 channels when new, Hi and Lo being different sets of channels?

Don't know Simon. Think the guy in the other thread had a LO one. Might be an idea to send him a message and ask him.

I dont see any difference between Hi and Lo Band Version. First i thought there is a 3 band and a 6 band version. But there is not the difference...

Hello
I found the SuperStar 3600 (low band ) Line-Up Procedure 26.515 - 27.855 mhz Version
http://www.cbtricks.com/pub/secret_cb/v ... vol_22.pdf
Indication for x2 = 14.460 mhz

Re: Superstar 3600 xtal X2 help
Thanks Claude . Saying that I'm still intrigued. Why put a sticker on them at all if they're both the same ? I found a LO BAND one for sale over here , but the guy wants too much money for it . I'll bide my time and pick up both models . Might take me a couple of years , but I'll post back once I find the answer

Re: Superstar 3600 xtal X2 help
I found this infos on cbtricks. But as Sammy said, where is the difference between SS3600 hi and lo band?
According to the xtal, the PLL alinment must be different, or the bands must be different.
14.460MHz plus 455khz gives 14.915MHz where the 14910MHz should do the job to bring the radio to mid/hi/superhi.
Or in my case to standard lo/mid/hi...depending on alignment.
