Be a good idea to send us a link to the size of the counter, I think it's the one with the 9 v battery your on about.

Yep sorry mate that's the ones . A bit further research on the net reveals they are actually very good as far as accuracy goes. Anyone else here any knowledge off them ?

Have a look here https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... ox&_sop=15 or a small tuppaware type box with removable lid to change the battery and you could carbon wrap the box so it looks better...

Great stuff thanks for the idea. Suppose could cut out the front off the box to accommodate the display and as you say have access for the battery. Antenna socket exiting from the top. Finished in alloy or carbon effect wrap.

I've seen these before on eBay but not really put much thought into them. But if the reviews are good then they appear to be a bargain. Great to build into a dedicated enclosure or even into a radio.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

I bought one a few months back and it was useless. The frequency accuracy was extremely poor, being as much as 5khz out by the time I got to 430Mhz.
It was also very difficult to obtain any gate trigger, at times failing to display any frequency.
I sent mine back for a refund. It's quite possible it was genuinely duff, so I'd be interested to hear what you think about it.

Okay thanks yep will certainly let you know how I get on once it arrives. Hopefully yours was just a dodgy one, for the price don't expect miracles but heard a few folk saying they were impressed with the things performance so will just wait and see for myself.

Snap !! mine arrived today, would not read at 27 MHz at all and around 145.600.0 would only read the freq occasionally and when it did it showed 145.614.8.... more crap to go in the bin !!

Thanks for the update and disappointing to hear. It's definitely looking as though most (not all) of the cheaper Chinese made electronics are only fit for the bin or maybe to be used as door stops. You do indeed get what you pay for!

I wonder if the working examples shown on YouTube are of different origin or perhaps, plants to dupe us all into buying?

To be honest don't know as have read off others having great sucuss with them so maybe just the luck off the draw but if that's two off us on here who have had no joy with these think the chances off them offering acceptable performance are pretty slim. !!
